L'Association pour le Respect de l'Environnement lors des Manifestations Culturelles et Sportives is an association law 1901 non-profit organization established in 2004, which aims to limit the environmental impacts of events in social, cultural, and sports by educating the largest number of ecology-and in placing at the disposal of organisers of events of human and material resources to reduce impacts.
Today high of 500 members and assets of more than 200 events covered annually, with the meeting of nearly two million people by 2017, the association Aremacs acts on the national territory through four regional offices : Region pays de la Loire, PACA Region, Region New-Aquitaine and Région Auvergne, Rhône-Alpes, accompanied by a national headquarters in Lyon.
Aremacs has proven over the years its ability to integrate in an operational way the taking into account of the environmental impacts of events and its capacity to mobilise citizens, organizers or spectators, and to follow a few basic rules to enable better use of the resources of the planet. Aremacs work every day in the defence of our missions and the promotion of the respect for the environment through active outreach to the public, numerous community partnerships and personalized guidance from the event organisers.
Our intention is to accompany the event organizers and the public many changes in behaviour patterns on the theme of waste in order to reduce the environmental impacts of cultural and sporting events. In a logic of reduction, management and recovery of waste, we are supporting the organisers throughout the cycle of events.
Upstream, we are putting in place a diagnostic phase, to work on waste reduction, but also to identify the materials best to provide for the recycling channels, while identifying and involving stakeholders territorial.
For, we determine an operational response of ground thanks to our know-how, which is based on the material of sensitization of the public and of the responsible management of waste (sorting, bio-waste, cigarette butts, OM), with a strong presence volunteer in order to meet the public and make the actor for this approach (awareness, activity, communication).
Finally, we accompany the event on the directions to the various channels of recycling and reuse of waste and produce a qualitative assessment and quantitative evaluation of the complete event.
