Movement of popular education, founded in 1947, the Afa puts it in the network places of practice (clubs, Resorts, night Schools of astronomy), develops digital resources (astro@juniors) and internships and induction training for young people (the Little Bear) or adult (Stage 1,2,3 stars).
It publishes the magazine Ciel & Espace. She coordinates the Nights of stars. It initiates and co-organises numerous awareness-raising actions of astronomy to the wider public, supports the social actors in the implementation of activities of the astronomical in the neighbourhoods (sky districts), organizes events such as the Meetings of the sky and space, the Festival of the 2 infinities,..., advocates for the preservation of the night sky.
