A landscape of bocage is characterized by a network of hedgerows and wooded accompanying the cutting of agricultural land, resulting in a work of several generations of farmers.
Today, the situation of the grove is that of a house forgotten that the walls were showered little by little for over 40 years. If the years to come following this trend, the scrap has completely disappeared from our landscape and culture of agriculture in a generation.
The current generation therefore has a decisive role on the fate of the grove. Either it can conclude its disappearance "passively" trees after trees... or it decides to re-invent this culture succession of hedged fields and proactively, considering that the culture of the tree hedgerow still has a meaning in the agriculture of today and tomorrow.
At our level, we have formed an association law 1901 (non-profit), bringing together the farmers who share a taste for trees and the willingness to share, learn and innovate for a culture to succession of hedged fields is still a part of the business agricultural, in connection with the territories which they contribute to shaping the landscape.
Also, from season to season, we arrange to plant, prune, manage, and provide for the future of thousands of trees bocagers (hedge, berms, shelterbelts, orchards, boqueteaux...) on our farms in a logic of mutual assistance and the exchange of know-how with our neighbors, our family, our knowledge of... agricultural or not.
The collective of farmers Terres & Bocages work as well since 2008, with more than a hundred farmers, for the maintenance and renewal of a grove of quality related to agricultural activity. Its comprehensive approach (in particular in partnership with research and other actors) is now also recognized in the framework of the collective agro-ecological.
In helping the farmers of the collective Terres & Bocages, you can also help support an agriculture that is respectful of our landscapes...
